Born (1945) and raised in the Bronx, went to Cardinal Hayes High School. Entered the Capuchin Franciscans in 1963 and was Ordained (with John Baptist Riordan) just over 50 years ago, in 1971.
Spent most of his ministry years abroad. 20 years in Central America (Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador), then 4 years in Cuba. Then back to the U.S. for 6 years serving in Hispanic ministry in New Hampshire and at St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Washington Heights, and as part-time Chaplain to the Westchester Jails in Valhallah. Then 16 years in Okinawa, Japan, pastoring the small Spanish-speaking Catholic communities there. Now back in the U.S. permanently, serving St. John's and Holy Cross.
His small book about the Church in Cuba, "Four Years in Castro's Cuba", is available in print or as an e-book at Amazon and elsewhere.
As he donated a kidney back in 2002 he is active in promoting organ and tissue donation, both living donation and after-death donation.
